Dr. Rights is passionate about eye health and seeks to provide her patients with a unique practice that blends eye care and aesthetics with holistic wellness in a boutique and spa-like environment.

Her unwavering dedication to understanding the complex disease of dry eye and advocacy for preventative eyecare has earned her recognition in the industry as a leader in ocular wellness. Dr. Rights’ passion for dry eye care stemmed from observing the increasing number of patients with this painful and life-changing condition, including herself. She has made it her mission to provide the most effective and advanced dry eye treatments in her practice.

Dr. Rights earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Appalachian State University. She received her Doctor of Optometry (OD) from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry - Salus at Drexel University, and completed clinical rotations all across North Carolina. Dr. Rights is a member of several optometric associations and an alum of the prestigious leadership programs led by the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina Optometric Association.

Between patient care and her unrelenting interest in her studies, Dr. Rights has shared her expertise as a key opinion leader, panelist, and public speaker at industry conferences and trade shows. She has been interviewed by and written articles for various media outlets, nationally and internationally. Dr. Rights also earned international recognition as an “innovative trailblazer” when she was named one of the Most Influential Women in Optical in 2022.

Beyond her professional life, Dr. Rights is an avid gardener and explorer. Her passion for travel inspired her to circumnavigate the globe on a ship and immerse herself in other cultures across four continents during her studies abroad. Dr. Rights considers the Blue Ridge Mountains one of the most beautiful places in the world, and she and her husband (a fellow AppState alum) are proud to raise their two children here in the High Country.
