Dr. Mandy Rights is passionate about eye health and leads a unique practice that blends eye care and aesthetics with holistic wellness in a boutique and spa-like environment.
Her unwavering dedication to understanding the complex disease of dry eye and advocacy for preventative eyecare has earned her recognition in the industry as a leader in ocular surface wellness. Dr. Rights’ passion for dry eye care stemmed from observing the increasing number of patients with this painful and life-changing condition, including herself. She has made it her mission to provide the most effective and advanced dry eye treatments in Western North Carolina.
Dr. Rights earned her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Professional Biology and Chemistry from Appalachian State University. During her undergraduate education, she studied abroad while circumnavigating the globe on a ship — experiencing the diversity of cultures and healthcare approaches in numerous countries across four continents. She received her Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry - Salus at Drexel University, and completed clinical rotations all across North Carolina.
Dr. Rights is a member of several optometric associations and an alum of the prestigious leadership programs led by the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina Optometric Society.

Dr. Rights has been featured in and written articles for numerous eyecare industry media publications—including Modern Optometry, Women in Optometry, Review of Optometric Business, and Eyecare Business magazines. She has also contributed eye health content to national and international media outlets—including Yahoo! Lifestyle, Healthline, PureWow, SheKnows, and BestLife—as well as a nationally syndicated radio show and podcasts.
In 2018, Dr. Rights was the recipient of the Transitions® Healthy Sight Ambassador Award (formerly known as the Brand Ambassador award) — celebrating an individual who best promotes healthy sight to their patients and local communities, championing the values and technologies of Transitions Optical.
In 2022, Dr. Rights was nominated to be one of the Most Influential Women in Optical by Vision Monday. She was honored with the Innovator Award, highlighting women who have initiated new products, programs, or ideas marking success in the optical industry.
Dr. Rights was among the first eye doctors in the country — and the first doctor in NC — to incorporate dynamic muscle stimulation technology (Lumenis OptiLIFT) for the treatment of dry eye through blink optimization. She is recognized as an industry-leader in the fields of dry eye, ocular aesthetics, and ocular wellness & longevity.
